Ministry of Commerce (MoC) is working on a roadmap for its attached organisations to improve their performance during the current calendar year.

KARACHI: The Ministry of Commerce (MoC) is working on a roadmap for its attached organisations to improve their performance during the current calendar year.“MoC has convened a meeting of all its associated organisations next week in Karachi to ponder over the roadmap,” officials in the ministry told Daily Times
on Saturday.
he attached organisations of MoC are Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Trading Corporation of Pakistan, State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan, National Insurance Company Limited and Pak Re-Insurance Company.
Officials said that Federal Commerce Secretary Zafar Mahmood will chair the meeting of all the organisations, to be held next week and would discuss the plan with the heads and officials of all these organisations.
The roadmap would set the targets for all the attached organisations for the year 2011 in their respective fields.
The performance of all these organisations would also come into discussions and all the organisations are currently busy in preparing the reports of their performance and suggestions for the future to be submitted to the ministry.
Officials said that although all the attached organisations’ performances and future targets would come into focus but the special emphasis would be laid on the trade sector, which is related to TDAP.
The performance of 2010 viz-a-viz the trade sector was quite remarkable as the export of the country increased substantially over 20 percent in the first half of the current fiscal and such a significant growth has been achieved after a long time.
The next week’s meeting would also discuss the trade policy initiatives, which were announced in the last trade policy and the pace of their implementation.
The suggestions and recommendations of TDAP and various trade bodies would also be presented to the secretary during the meeting to further facilitate the export sector by announcing more incentives in the next trade policy,” an official of TDAP said
