William J Toppeta (Bill Toppeta), president of MetLife International, came to Dhaka on a three-day visit Wednesday.
MetLife, the largest life insurance company of the USA, recently acquired American Life Insurance Company (ALICO) from AIG and has consequently become a global life insurance and employee benefits powerhouse.
Following the acquisition, the ALICO operations in Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region have been re branded as MetLife Alico. Bangladesh has been identified by MetLife as a key operation and it is already the hub for the company's South Asian sub region comprising Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan.
Mr Toppeta is visiting Dhaka to discuss MetLife's Refreshed Global Strategy with the sub regional and country managements of the three operations.
During the visit, Mr Toppeta will also address the associates of the company in Bangladesh, in addition to holding other business meetings
