The mobile phones, especially the SMS services, can be effectively helpful in disseminating important information on education, health, banking, financial and insurance services in urban and agriculture-relating services in rural areas of Pakistan.
The NetSol Technologies Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Salim Ghauri in a statement said the technology is becoming not only user-friendly but also cheaper to buy today with internet enabling facility in all mobile phones. Further, he said, the SMS messages are a great way to disseminate information on a large scale, with low costs now. The new technology, Ghauri said, could now be translated into different languages, as the computers and mobile phones are all carrying options of different languages; therefore it is right time to benefit the urban and rural folk across Pakistan to stimulate economic growth.
Our country could bring about a big social change with effective use of information technology, as the era of Digital Divide is over globally, inviting the developing countries like Pakistan to act smartly on effective usage of information technology in order to bring ease and comfort to urban and rural populations".
