EFU General Insurance to run their Core Insurance Application on Oracle Exadata V2 The World's First Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) Database
EFU General Insurance Ltd. (EFU), is leading non-life insurer in Pakistan and the parent company of other insurance organizations of EFU Group, has selected Oracle Exadata Machine V2 to modernize their systems.
EFU has set the standard in the insurance services industry in Pakistan by agreeing to deploy Oracle Database 11g Release 2 Enterprise Edition with Diagnostic, Provisioning and Tuning Pack, Real Application Cluster along with Oracle Data Integrator and Oracle Web Logic Suite 11g.
The Oracle Exadata Machine V2, made by Sun and Oracle, will replace EFU's legacy system to run their new core insurance application on Oracle technology platform in order to respond better and faster to their business challenges.
oracle Database 11g Release 2 Enterprise Edition along with option packs offer better performance, reliable information and manageable IT infrastructure to EFU, enabling them to deliver the highest quality of service at low cost.
The tuning pack will enable EFU to automate their entire application tuning process, extremely cost effectively and easily.
The diagnostics pack will provide enterprise-wide performance and availability reporting, a centralized performance repository, significantly simplifying the task of managing large sets of databases.
The provisioning pack will enable EFU to manage critical data center operations easy, efficient and scalable resulting in lower operational risk and cost of ownership.

Oracle Data Integrator will be used to ease out migration of legacy data to the new system on Exadata V2. The same tool will enable EFU to form data warehouse on Exadata V2 in future.
Oracle WebLogic Suite 11g will be the base platform to run the new Core Insurance application. The application will be centrally deployed for access by country-wide branch network of EFU General Insurance and enabling the company to reduce cost associated with diagnostics, configuration, and deployment on production servers.
This deployment would enable EFU to lower their operational cost due to centralized environment. The management will have a real time view of key information enabling them to analyze business trends ensuring timely decisions.
EFU will also be in a position to provide more services to its customers via web, and enable more quality services via business to business (B2B) integration. This will also make their IT infrastructure more agile to help business grow faster as they will be able to open more sales channels via web or integration with other companies.
